Introduction Post

Hello! It's Introduction time... Currently I act as Webmaster on several sites. The sites I oversee each day are varied from forum communties, storefronts, website review & ranking, RSS Resources and an Auction Store directory. Currently I am also working on two new sites which are an XML database driven consumer news site an the other an RSS feed generation resource.

Although I am in the UK, many of these sites are primarily US marketed which may explain some of my spelling errors! As you might imagine, time is my most precious resource, so it's nice to get away and type a few thoughts in to a blog lke this as an unwind. I will also be happy to chat here with fellow bloggers and explain or advise on website or code issues (I'm mostly competent with HTML, PHP and mySQL).

So what will I do with this blog? To be truthful I'm not really sure, but I called it 'discount-and-cheap' as I will definately try to pass on details of the many great offers, promotions and online coupon codes I see on a daily basis as part of my other work. I will also highlight some of the better things I find on eBay, a site a greatly admire despite the obvious criticisms it attracts.

Offline, I'm the wrong side of 40, married (2nd Anniversary on the 14th of this month) and two children by my first wife. A grown up, married daughter and a son who is 16 this year. I enjoy sports - although mainly as a spectator thesedays! I socialise a few times each week in our local pub and, no matter what, always make time for a couple of European holidays and a longer haul vacation each year. I love travel and love long lazy days in the sun without a PC in sight!

So, I will always try to leave readers with a great link to follow whenever I post. This time I will give you an eBay search I always look at every day. I am currently typing on a Toshiba laptop purchased over 18 months ago for £42! It still works great and has been worth every penny ten times over. Where did I buy it?
